I grew up in suburban Sydney with two brothers, a swing set and the scent of gardenias. My days were filled with chalk drawings on driveways, backyard battles, blanket forts, dollhouse drama, journal ramblings... and lots and lots of picture books.
These days I love working with words and pictures as both a publisher and an author. Teacup (illustrated by Matt Ottley) won the Patricia Wrightson Prize for Children’s Literature in the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards 2016 and has been published internationally. The Speedy Sloth (illustrated by Heath McKenzie) was ALIA’s National Simultaneous Storytime picture book for 2023.

It was finally time for the event of the year, Spike couldn’t believe it—The Great Race was here! The other sloths said it couldn’t be done, but Spike didn’t care, she was ready to run!
The official story chosen for ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime 2023, read by over 2 million readers across Australia and New Zealand!
Spike was a sloth, and, yes, she was slow. But unlike the others, she wanted to GO! Then Spike meets Dash, just what she needs— someone to play with who goes at her speed!
A joyful story about finding friends in unexpected places.
