AURA PARKER

Aura Parker is an illustrator, writer and designer who inspires imagination, courage and confidence in young readers. She works in watercolour, pen and coloured pencil, as well as digital techniques. Aura Parker’s storytelling through words and pictures fosters a love, curiosity and passion for nature and the environment. She is passionate about reading, art, design, and encouraging children to be creative and brave.

Aura is the author and illustrator of seven picture books which have received awards such as Children’s Book Council of Australia Notable and the Speech Pathology Book of the Year. Aura’s latest picture book, Bowerbird Blues, was first released in April 2023.

Aura has a background in design and regularly exhibits illustrations, prints, paintings and handcrafted textiles. She works from her studio, where she is kept company by a cheeky Border Collie called Mojo.
