Annie White grew up in Geelong, Victoria. Her childhood was spent jumping waves on the beaches along the Great Ocean Road, climbing very tall trees (and occasionally being rescued), delighting in the worlds of The Magic Faraway Tree, Alice in Wonderland and AA Milne, and drawing endlessly at the kitchen table. After studying Art and Design she worked in advertising before moving full-time into illustration.
Annie lives with her husband and three children who, together with the dog, provide inspiration and reference for her many drawings. In her drawings Annie likes to communicate ideas clearly and simply, using expression and movement, and has now published over 50 books. Today Annie has graduated from the kitchen table to a wonderful workroom, full of light and overlooking a giant liquidambar tree, which may not be far away but is certainly magical.
