Tony Wilson

Author

Tony Wilson has worked in radio and television since his first appearance as a contestant on the ABC's television documentary series ‘Race Around the World' in 1998.

In that series Tony travelled widely, making stories on everything from cowboy poets to the idea of playing chicken in the town of Chicken, Alaska.

He has written widely for adults, both in magazines (The Monthly, Good Weekend) and for newspapers (The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald). His first novel, Players, earned him an award as a Best Young Australian Novelist 2006.

His first book for children was Grannysaurus Rex, illustrated by David Cornish and published by Omnibus Books in 2004. He followed up with Harry Highpants in 2007, a story about pants laws and the fight for pants freedom. His next scheduled release is The Princess and the Packet of Frozen Peas, due out in 2008.

You can see Tony as part of the Brains Trust on ABCTV's ‘The Einstein Factor'.
