Garth Nix currently lives in Sydney, Australia. His novel Sabriel won the Aurealis Award for Excellence in Australian Science Fiction, and his novel Shade’s Children was named an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and an ABA Pick of the Lists. He is also the author of The Ragwitch and Lirael.
Commenting on what he likes most about writing for children, Garth said, ‘I think what I like best is being able to use my imagination as a sort of starter motor for readers. I like to write books that I would have liked as a child, that would have got me thinking and imagining beyond the words on the page. In a way, my audience is always how I remember myself as a child.’
