Pauline Reilly

Pauline Reilly lives in Aireys Inlet, Victoria. She is the author of over 40 publications and articles.

She was born on 15 December 1918 in Adelaide and attended Korowa CEGGS and Melbourne CEGGS until leaving in 1934.

She worked as a secretary until the outbreak of World War II. During World War II she worked as a censor, then moved to Army Intelligence and later to an anti-aircraft battery and served in Townsville, North Queensland.

Pauline has been involved in the ornithological field of work for 40 years and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in June 1994 for services to the study of birds. In 1981, Pauline was also the first woman to be appointed a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Ornithologists Union.
